MBAS

Mercury Bay Area School (MBAS)

I believe the fundamental purpose of our school is to ensure each child has every opportunity to achieve to their very best. For this to occur in a busy school like ours, it requires dedicated, professional teaching staff, the successful implementation of well organized and integrated curricula plans, a positive supportive pastoral care environment, and last but far from least, energetic, cheerful young people who want to be their very best academically, and in sporting, cultural and social fields.

Our school is able to offer top quality learning programmes designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population, so that effectively, every student is studying, and is being assessed at their appropriate level. Our major focus is on student achievement. Our positive, caring and supportive learning environment enables each child to develop mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. MBAS website

Whangamata Area School

Welcome to our Whangamata Area School. Our vision is to “promote excellence in all aspects of school life”. As an area school we are ideally placed to provide our students with the skills and attributes that will allow them to thrive in the future. Many of our most successful students spend all of their 13 years of school with us.

Our school offers a full range of academic courses plus plenty of opportunities to be involved in numerous sporting, cultural, leadership and extra curricular events. We are proud of the students we produce and of their achievements.

Our school was formed as an Area School in 1985 and it provides quality education to  school students in beautiful Whangamata. We encourage a family atmosphere where staff, pupils and their families all enjoy the state of the art facilities we have to offer. A feature of W.A.S. is that our pupils have plenty of staff and community support for their learning because it is a smaller school.Whangamata Area School website
