Welcome to our Whangamata Area School. Our vision is to “promote excellence in all aspects of school life”. As an area school we are ideally placed to provide our students with the skills and attributes that will allow them to thrive in the future. Many of our most successful students spend all of their 13 years of school with us.

Our school offers a full range of academic courses plus plenty of opportunities to be involved in numerous sporting, cultural, leadership and extra curricular events. We are proud of the students we produce and of their achievements.

Our school was formed as an Area School in 1985 and it provides quality education to school students in beautiful Whangamata. We encourage a family atmosphere where staff, pupils and their families all enjoy the state of the art facilities we have to offer. A feature of W.A.S. is that our pupils have plenty of staff and community support for their learning because it is a smaller school.Whangamata Area School website
