TECSOL Course

 

TECSOL - Teaching English to Child Speakers of Other Languages
 
     
Have fun learning to teach English to children at Evakona!
 
     
Evakona's TECSOL Course is for non-native speakers who want to improve their English-speaking ability and be able to teach English as a Second Language to young children.
 
6-Week TECSOL Course
 
          

Mornings:In addition to observing teachers and children in action at local early childhood centres in the mornings, you will study General English to improve your English-speaking ability and to give you the confidence to activate your English knowledge.

Afternoons: In the afternoon sessions, you will focus on lesson planning; classroom English, songs and games, peer teaching practice, and creating and using teacher resources.

  • 30 hours per week.
  • Maximum 10 students per class.
   
1-Week TECSOL Express Course
 
 
Especially for busy teachers who are already teaching at pre-schools and elementary schools, we have taken the highlights from our 6-Week TECSOL Course, and created an intensive 1-Week TECSOL Express course.

IMMIGRATION: Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/.

ELIGIBILITY FOR HEALTH SERVICES: Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly-funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their website at: http://www.moh.govt.nz/.

ACCIDENT INSURANCE: The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs.
